After finishing her studies in Audiovisual Communication she moved to Barcelona to study Photography Direction in the Film Studies Centre of Catalonia. During the course she filmed “The Village” a short fiction filmed in Jaén and two experimental films in 16 mm “The Meal” and “House of dolls”. In the course she took the lessons of the famous Spanish filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta who inspired in her a passion for documentary. In the final year she directed her first documentary film at age of 22 years old in 35 mm, “Viaje de ida y vuelta” (Round trip). It was funded by the Institute of the Arts and Cinematographic Sciences in Spain (ICAA), pre-selected for the Goya Awards 2010 and broadcast on public Spanish television ‘TVE”. Also the documentary was screened in more than 20 festivals in Spain. With her second documentary “Un dia en Smara” she received a “Special Mention” in 2011 in the LIDF (London International Documentary Festival) and won awards in various other five international festivals (Un film per la Pace festival in Italy, Golden Beggar Award in Slovakia...). Also the documentary has been screened in other 30 important festivals around the world (Adana Golden Boll Competition for Mediterranean Countries in Turkey, Festival of Cinema of Bogotá (Colombia), Docudays-Lebanon) and will be broadcast in Croatia and UK (Community Channel). For the last three years she has been living in London where she studied her MA in Documentary Practice in the Royal Holloway University of London. Her next future documentary film “The visit” is waiting to have the premier this summer. It was filmed in Cambodia and it is a production of ChicaStories in co-production with 'Roastbeeftv' producers of “Hell and Back Again” nominated at the Oscars this year. In this moment she is working on another documentary project: a short documentary filmed in Palestine, in post-production stage and a feature-length documentary “Land of the Olive Trees” that has received the support of the Council of Jaen (Spain) and Caja Rural Foundation (Spain). In the last year also, she has been teaching courses in Spain on documentary filmmaking.
